Eaton’s vehicle division is currently seeking a supplier development engineer to join our teamThis position can be based out of our galesburg, mi, marshall, mi, or southfield, mi facility.
Position overview:
Use technical process expertise in manufacturing & quality processes, including design feasibility analysis, tooling, and process development, to drive the successful launch of components within the global supply base; drive continuous improvement actions such as lean manufacturing, scrap reduction, design improvements, and capability improvements in the assigned component commodity supply base.
In this role, you will:
Conducts quality/manufacturing (technical site assessments/health checks), in support of new sourcing, to determine if a supplier’s quality system is qualified and approved in meeting eaton’s requirements.
Set action plans to fulfill gaps found in assessments, support and leads improvement and development plans.
Continually monitors assigned supplier’s performance status (ppm and hi impact dmr).
Works with suppliers and plant sqa to implement and confirm effective 8d corrective action and comprehensive performance improvement plans as required.
Lead apqp with the suppliers to ensure on time ppap delivery and flawless launch.
Contribute to vave/cost out projects at eatonSupport supplier capacity constraints & run at rates.
Qualifications
Required (basic) qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree from accredited institution
Minimum three (3) years’ experience in a manufacturing environment
Must be authorized to work in the united states without company sponsorship now or in the future

Bachelor’s degree in engineering from accredited institution
Preferred qualifications:
5+ years of experience in supplier quality, quality, and/or manufacturing
Knowledge in plastics, castings, machining, fine blanking, stamping, and/or bearings
Knowledge in forging, forming, and/or electrical components
Core quality tools knowledge
