Eaton’s msd division is currently seeking an fp&a lead analyst to join our team.
Remote working from home office will be considered if the candidate is located w/in 50 miles of the following eaton msd locations: davenport, ia, cleveland, oh, orchard park, nyRelocation and sponsorship benefits are not available for this position.
Position overview:
This role is instrumental to consolidate and analyze financial data related to profit plan, strategic plan, forecasts and actual results for an ~$800m global division with 3 plants in 3 countriesThis role is tightly linked with aerospace reporting and analysis and a key interface to the plants within msd in deployment and alignment of key initiatives in financial planning and analysis and for aerospaceThis position provides financial and analytical support to the finance leader of the mission systems division and msd leadership teamThis position also supports ensuring compliance with established corporate/industrial sector/aerospace requirements; and supports activities ensuring conformance to corporate policies, legal requirements, sarbanes-oxley, and gaap.

In this function you will:
Prepare, analyze, interpret, and comment on the msd consolidated financial results and forecasts on a monthly basisThese consolidated comments are distributed to aerospace, the msd finance leader, and the msd leadership teamUnderstand key drivers impacting performance to clearly articulate and highlight in the financial analysis and in standard commentary and reporting.
Consolidate and analyze msd sales and margin variances, understanding trends within aerospace segments and platformsSupport as a key business partner to the sales function.
Utilize analytical tools to highlight trends and deviations for aerospace senior management, msd finance director, and msd leadership team
Provide support to key aerospace program contract accounting & financial analysis
Support msd leadership team in matters of providing interpretation of msd financial dataDevelop an understanding of msd financial statements and impacts of fx and operational variances for all locations.
Support and help coordinate within the division, working with the plants, on the transparency, accuracy, and timely completion of key financial deliverables such as monthly actual results, monthly rolling forecasts, profit plan, strategic plan, quarterly reporting requirements, etc.
Support the review of capital appropriation requests submitted for approval.
Prepare various ad hoc analytical studies proactively and at the request of msd finance manager of reporting & analysis, the finance leader, or from the msd senior leadership team.
Work with msd plants to drive improved transparency, quality, and timeliness of financial data provided to the msd division and aerospaceDevelop and deploy process improvements to streamline efforts and improve accuracy.
Prepare, maintain, and distribute financial analysis and reports for monthly actuals, forecast, strategic plan, profit plan, and operating reviewsHelp to lead the research of analyzing msd division results and highlighting key business drivers to aerospace or msd senior management.
Demonstrate leadership and active participation in cross-functional teams across integrated product teams and the broader msd division to drive profitability and process improvements.
Maintain an atmosphere of continuous improvement and a team environment dedicated to getting resultsImplement various process improvements.
Establish and document standard work for all standard processes.
Support quarterly excess and obsolete inventory reviews with all msd sites.

Qualifications
Required (basic) qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance from an accredited institution is required.
Minimum of 4 years of accounting/finance experience is required.

Preferred qualifications:
Mba/cpa/cma
Knowledge of financial and managerial accounting & general accounting methods and principles
Proficiency in financial systems to perform financial analysis (encore, khalix, dft, oracle); strong knowledge of excel and powerpoint
