The consumer industry center (cic) is one of the industry teams within the research & insights (r&i) groupThe center`s goals are to:
Assess the opportunities and challenges facing consumer products and retail, wholesale & distribution organizations operating globally
Provide practical insights - whether they are technical, operational, or policy-oriented
Bring together a range of stakeholders to address issues impacting the health of the consumer products and retail, wholesale & distribution sectors
Make extensive use of leading practices from retail, wholesale & distribution and consumer products professionals across diverse disciplines including strategy, operations, marketing, finance, risk management, regulation, and human resources, that have taken innovative steps to address critical challenges

The role of the incumbent is to be part of the india-based consumer industry center team:
The incumbent will contribute to the advancement and quality of the center`s research and thought leadership initiatives in consumer products and retail, wholesale & distribution sectorsThese include white papers, in-depth research reports, client presentations, case studies, articles, etc., which integrate information from a wide range of primary and secondary sources such as deloitte subject matter experts, surveys, third-party research, analyst reports, presentations, industry commentaries, and news articles.
Work with the us- and india-based consumer industry center team to support execution of projects that align with the sector research agenda
Contribute to developing consumer products and retail, wholesale & distribution sector thoughtwareResponsibilities include:
? identifying new research topics and supporting the development of research proposals and research plan
? conducting in-depth primary and secondary research to form or support the hypothesesThis will include complex quantitative and qualitative data analysis, case study development, survey design and analysis, and interviewing senior executives
? utilizing credible statistical methods in validating research hypotheses and perform analyses to develop original insights
? writing research reports, case studies, viewpoints, and articles targeted at leading management, and industry publications
? developing presentations summarizing insights and recommendations to assist senior team members for internal and external meetings
Demonstrate broader knowledge of consumer products and retail, wholesale & distribution sectors
Develop an understanding of deloitte’s solutions, services, and offerings
Work in a team environment and build a network within r&i and teams across usi
Actively use social media to share and promote thoughtware pieces and amplify their reach
Requisite experience and skills
4 to 6 years experience in industry or research roles aligned with consumer products and retail, wholesale & distribution sectors
Demonstrate strong expertise in secondary research methods and use of databases such as factiva, thomson, hoovers, bloomberg etc.
Demonstrate experience with quantitative and qualitative research methods such as statistical analysis, primary research (surveys, interviews), financial analysis, data analysis, and case study
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skillsIs adept at using storyboarding, and structuring strategies
? substantive issues facing consumer products and retail, wholesale & distribution sectors
? financial management concepts, management approaches, and strategy and policy frameworks - customer strategy, merger and acquisition strategy, financial and performance management, it strategy
? industry regulatory structure and regulations
Excellent analytical, problem solving, and critical thinking skills
Competency to work with distributed and virtual teams, especially one that spans international geographies
High attention to detail, responsiveness, and strong track record of contributing to high-impact projects
Broad understanding of promoting content on key social media platforms such as —twitter, and linkedin is preferred
Ability to develop compelling and analytical data visualizations using one or more software tools, such as excel, powerpoint or others

The r&i team’s mission is to undertake research and analysis to develop compelling and forward-looking perspectives that allow clients to anticipate, prepare for, and respond to “what’s coming next.”

Managing relations with internal stakeholders.
Using advanced data science and survey advisory capabilities to strengthen the credibility of insights.
Leveraging editorial and visualization capabilities to improve the stickiness of firm thoughtware.
Qualifications, experience, work location, and timing
Academic qualification: master’s degree like mba/cfa or equivalent qualification
Work experience: 4 to 6 years
Work hours: 11:00 am – 8:00 pm (expected to stretch during busy periods)
