Instructional designer – assistant manager

As an instructional designer– am, you are expected to demonstrate the following capabilities.
Instructional design:
Manage instructional design efforts in the team and collaborate with subject matter experts (smes), clients/stakeholders, and help the team to develop and deliver learning solutions
Manage client relationship
Demonstrate strong client relationship skills by providing deep learning insights that can be translated into tactical learning solutions
Enhance relationship management strategy to serve functions better by aligning their business needs with performance support solutions
Conduct meeting and calls regularly with business and talent groups to understand requirements, inform regarding critical issues, offer solutions, and build support for lds
Serve as a sme to address questions and concerns from leadership on learning design solutions for business contextsPlan and participate in social and learning events both in real time and virtually to build greater credibility, awareness, and acceptance of lds
Consultation:
Take initiative and interact confidently with various stakeholders to facilitate meetings, identify needs, analyze situations, formulate solutions, secure buy-in, and implement
Technical:
Have prior experience working with tools and templates to design and develop learning deliverables
Have prior experience in developing different training product types, such as application simulations, instructor-led training materials (ilts)/ virtual instructor-led training materials (vilts), web-based trainings (wbts), job aids, and qrcsThis includes the ability to:
Research, analyze, design, develop, and customize instructional materials for wbt/computer-based training (cbt)/ilt
Work with different types of input material to create instructional content
Apply various instructional strategies, models, and theories to develop learning content to enhance learning transfer and greater on-the-job performance
Visualize content and work with graphic designers in the development of graphics and animations
Show proficiency with ms office, specifically ms word and powerpoint
Demonstrate knowledge of courseware development tools, such as captivate, prezi, camtasia, articulate storyline, and lectora
Work with time-effort estimates and overseeing the execution at various phases of the project life cycle
Team management:
Select the right resources for the team
Create strong, shared purpose and clear roles and responsibilities
Define success in terms of the entire team
Lead and manage assistant managers responsible for various work streams
Support individual and team goal achievement and manage performance review processes of direct and indirect reports
Communication:
Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate at all levels in a highly effective manner
Understand how to effectively navigate and resolve escalations and related issues at all levels
The team the lds team in india focuses on designing and implementing organizational learning to enhance our own workforce’s capabilities and improve their clients’ outcomesThe lds team is involved in designing and developing learning solutions to meet our clients’ business and learning needs, keeping the next generation workforce in the centerThe team works on video-based, game-based, traditional e-learning, ilts, vilts, and experimental learning.
Qualifications required
Should be a graduate/postgraduate with prior instructional design/learning and development and/or organizational development experience (a degree in the field of learning and development is preferred)
Should have eight to 10 years of experience in learning design and implementation with at least two years of client relationship management experience
Should have experience in budget and vendor contract management
Preferred
As an instructional designer—assistant manager, you should be able to
Create project plans and related resource plans
Manage teams to execute projects leading to timely delivery, quality, and compliance with the project’s scope
Collaborate with smes and performance consultants
Lead and train team members to provide end-to-end learning solutions
Develop key messages and communicate around project updates
Review team members’ work for relevance and quality
Demonstrate excellent writing and project management skills
Demonstrate strong communication skills and the ability to interact across levels
Demonstrate strong interpersonal and team-building skills
Possess a flexible work style and be able to work beyond the normal schedule during peak periods in order to meet deadlines
Work effectively, with minimal day-to-day supervision, and within a team environment to significantly contribute to the success of the team
Possess a client-service mindset and a desire to take on tough and challenging projects
Proactively investigate and mitigate risks, coordinating with team members and others to resolve issues, and escalate issues as necessary
