The project manager will be tasked with the organization, strategic communications planning and successful execution of dana-farber’s 75th anniversary celebrationThe project manager will use the institute’s 75th anniversary as an opportunity to generate attention, celebrate our history, mission and core values, and excite our major audiences and constituencies.
The project manager is a full-time, temporary position for up to (12 – 18 months)This is a benefit eligible position.
This position will report directly to the svp/cmo of communications and the senior director of strategic planning and operations and will be responsible for developing, and leading implementation of, a robust plan of events and activities that highlight dana-farber’s historic role in the fight against cancer to help position the institute as a leader for the future.

Creates and executes strategic communications plan to promote dana-farber’s 75th anniversary, including project timelines and budget.
Serves as communications lead for all 75th anniversary projects including:
Develops and maintains relationships with representatives across the institute, including senior leadership, board of trustees office/members and close coordination with philanthropy.
Coordinates and represents communications on 75th anniversary committees and/or workgroups.
Oversees all events associated with the 75th anniversary communications plan.
Develops messaging platforms and talking points (for all audiences), emails, stories, social media posts and other communications for all dana-farber channels.
Manages a variety of projects—including brochures, posters, invitations, digital ads, and videos for staff, patients and families, media, and other external audiences.
Reviews historical materials/photos and create a digital archive of dana-farber corporate history and, once established, link to nci (and other) sites.
Explores creation of a formal history of the institute.
Coordinates with department of philanthropy’s 75th jimmy fund anniversary planners.
Oversees and manages vendors included in the strategic communications plan
Engages with, coordinates, and supports other communications functions as needed.
Other duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree required.
7+ years of experience in marketing/communications, project management, or related field required.
Additional knowledge, skills & abilities required:
Familiarity with print and video production.
Strong project management and event planning/management skills.
Excellent organizational and decision-making skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong client/customer service skills.
Excellent attention to detail.
Demonstrated ability to work both independently and in consensus setting.
Ability to implement and manage complex projects from start to finish.
