The occupational accident profit center is part of the specialty business unit (sbu) within a&h and writes the following lines of business: occupational accident, contingent liability and employers liability, non-trucking liability, and physical damage for independent contractors with ancillary workers’ compensation for employeesThe target markets are the trucking industry and the gig economy.
The underwriting assistant role will focus on assisting the underwriters with the responsibilities of underwriting, securing & retaining accounts and the administrative tasks affiliated with the underwriting process.
What you will do:
Manage pre-qualification of submission documents to ensure adequate information is provided for evaluation
Perform account setup within c&f systems
Track new business and renewal accounts for timely delivery
Execute proposal & binder creation and revision
Serve as a back-up to account management
Complete reporting and performance reporting
Handle ad hoc requests from the underwriting team and occupational accident leadership
Communicate with supervisor of current work load, on a regular basis
Abide by departmental policies and procedures, including authority levels, to comply with c&f`s risk management controls
What you will bring to c&f:

Strong attention to detail
High degree of organization to prioritize work and follow up on issues
Bachelor`s degree required
1-2+ years of corporate work experience, finance or insurance preferred
Proficiency in microsoft office tools – outlook, excel, word and power point
