The program delivery department at ecornell is searching for a hardworking and knowledgable individual to join their team as a desktop support administrator!
In this role, you will be primarily responsible for providing advanced it support, incident management, service request and fulfillment, provisioning services, systems status monitoring and desktop support services to ecornell staffServices supported include a broad range of desktop and enterprise applications, voice and data services, network and desktop infrastructure, mobile devices, and system monitoring applicationsSupport is provided to end users and other technical support providers via phone, chat, email, and/or in personThis position works independently to provide help desk support in order to identify, prioritize, and resolve problems with desktop software and hardware systems.
What we need:
Associate’s degree and minimum 2 years’ experience in information technology end user support, it service desk or direct customer technical support experience in another industry or combination of education and formal training programs.
Advanced knowledge in two or more of the following areas: desktop personal computing applications (on macos), enterprise it services / applications, voice and data technologies / services
Knowledge of commonly-used concepts, best practices, and procedures for end user technical support, operations support (network and systems), desktop support or service request fulfillment.
Strong customer service and interpersonal skills; excellent phone etiquette.
Able to communicate effectively and professionally verbally and in writing to audiences at all levels of the organization including it alerts and system unavailability messages.
Attention to detail and ability to document issues and problems thoroughly.
Self-motivated ability to develop in depth understanding of a broad range of enterprise it services, applications and technologies.
Must demonstrate strong relationship building skills, well-developed problem-solving abilities, analytical, reasoning and judgment skills.
This is an in person role in ithaca, nyPortions of the role may be completed remotely.

Bachelor’s degree in a business or technical field a plus.
Advanced (level 2 or higher) technical support experience.
Experience with aws system administration a plus.
Experience with jamf mdm / enterprise device management a plus.
Experience with ms office 365 a plus.

This position is located in ithaca, new yorkDue to the covid-19 pandemic, and the university’s decision to limit the number of on-campus employees, the successful applicant will be asked to perform this role remotely at a location of their choice in the united states for a limited time, only until the university can permit more employees to work on campusOnce the university permits more employees to work on campus, the successful applicant will be expected to work on the ithaca campus, although they may be permitted to perform a portion of their work remotely.
