Salary $70,000/yr base (inclusive of stipend for benefits) plus commission & bonus, ote $100,000+

With many event companies facing difficulty in the past 2 years, commodities people is happy to be in quite the opposite position – thriving and growing significantly during this period.
As a result we are now the lookout for an intelligent, motivated regional commercial & sponsorship manager - dealing with a global client base but with a particular focus on north america - to join the team.
You will be working across our highly respected global energy & commodities event portfolio – playing a key role in developing those events in-person and online worldwide.
The last 2 years has seen our transformation beyond ‘just’ an event company – we now service our clients via year-round packages through bespoke content creation, advertising, tailored online webinars and workshops – offering a far greater range of tools and solutions to create value than ever before.

Commodities people is a business events company specialising in the fascinating and booming world of commodities (yes, you’ve guessed it!) and energy trading.
We gather around 35,000 professionals from across the globe each year to our in-person and online eventsWe also run industry content hubs and ongoing webinars to provide year-round engagement with our community.
We have a friendly, highly experienced, international team working remotely and flexibly from our shared offices in canary wharf, london, the galleria financial towers in houston, paris, milan, lithuania, with singapore coming soon.
A recent merger with an established houston based event organiser has allowed us to swiftly develop a deep footprint in north america
The role
You will sell sponsorship and partnership packages to a range of top vendor company prospects (both long-term existing corporate accounts and new business) on all our eventsYou will start with a full campaign leading to our major event of the year energy trading week americas 2022 (november), taking place in houston
You will quickly gain a strong understanding of the industry through our energy markets training course.
The role will involve travelling from time to time to our head office in london, and to other international events and meetings in the americas and europe.
You will report directly to the commercial director, who has over 15 years success in running high performing and motivated sales teams, with a dotted line to the ceo, americas, who has 30 years of experience working in event development, production and marketing.
This is a full-time, ongoing contract position
Your skills
· developing client accounts
· opening and closing business
· proposal writing
· written and verbal reporting with intelligent analysis
· fluent english speaker (spanish or portuguese proficiency would be helpful, but not required)
Your experience
· you have at least 2+ years of event sales experience
· evidence of a successful track record in event sales (or relatable experience)
· experience using hubspot or similar crm is helpful
· ba degree level and above
