Support cengage’s strategy planning process in collaboration with the executive team, including the corporate strategy, each business unit’s strategy, and objectives for functional team
Support the development of the operating rhythm including the cadence of analytics, process and review beyond the financial metrics to ensure cengage group builds accountability and builds for the future
Drive key strategic and operational initiatives and support the business units in creation of their short term and long-term objectives
Lead integrations of acquisitions, including developing and maintaining cengage’s integration playbook, and leading cross-functional integration teams
Lead project teams and individually implement large scale projects that encompass all of cengage group
Lead operational improvement projects to support scale objectives and new corporate priorities that cut across cengage group and mitigate areas of risk within business unit operating models
Identify and unlock sources of efficiency, alignment, simplicity and scale for the entire organization
Identify and track interesting adjacencies and important macro-trends
Coach and mentor analysts for project success and their professional development
This position is full-time and can be based in boston, ma, new york city, or other locations for the right candidate! skills you will need here:
A four-year college degree and/or previous experience with the following
5+ years of professional experience, including corporate, team, and program leadershipShould have experience in a professional services organization (consulting) and/or cross-functional leadership roles (corporate strategy, corporate leadership program, business operations, or corporate transformation)
Track record of achievement in delivering large, complex projects and influencing business outcomes
Proven track record to frame, visualize and contextualize sophisticated and ambiguous problems
Ability to drive a high-impact agenda with a diverse set of executives/ business stakeholders, and the ability to influence the right change in a fluid and dynamic environment
Ability to challenge ideas and norms with thoughtful arguments; act as a thought leader who is creative and confident in identifying solutions and persuading others to a course of action
Intellectual curiosity to quickly become a valued advisor within the areas of investigation; understanding strategic objectives, internal process flows, external benchmarking, and relevant performance indicators.
Highly developed analytical skills and data savvy; strong quantitative & problem-solving toolkit; comfortable using varying sources of data, qualitative inputs and assumptions to quickly test and prioritize hypotheses
Strong interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence; consistent record as a great teammate with an understanding of how to deliver both personal and team goals
Capacity to work independently or as part of a team with a “roll up your sleeves” approach
Passion for identifying and championing sources of business value
Prior experience leading successful business transformation projects
Excellent written, oral, presentation, and facilitation skills
That are preferred:
Master’s degree in business, engineering, operations, finance or related field(s)
Previous operational consulting or strategy consulting experience at firms like booz, accenture, a.tKearney, deloitte, mckinsey, bain, etcOr like boutique firms
Experience storytelling and applying effective frameworks to drive executive-level decision making (e.gPowerpoint)
