Description:
The salesforce specialist will be responsible for the day-to-day maintenance and configuration activities related to the cato institute’s salesforce databaseReporting to the salesforce administrator and working closely with the development and data services teams, the specialist will use their salesforce expertise to assist with generating mailing lists and campaigns, reports and dashboards, and assist with maintaining integrations.

Key duties & responsibilities
Execute day-to-day activities and operations of a complex, highly integrated salesforce instance.
Handle basic administrative functions including identifying ways to streamline data entry, maintaining data integrity, ongoing user maintenance, modification of page layouts, generation of reports and dashboards, creation of new fields and other routine tasks.
Troubleshoot login issues, mfa, and password resets.
Manage updates to permission sets, organization sharing settings, record access and other data security protocols.
Identify rules for duplicate management and other data cleanliness protocols.
Support the integration and implementation of third-party applicationsManage less complex salesforce integrations – those not handled by the salesforce administrator.
Conduct mass imports of new records and updates of already existing records through bulk data editing tool apsona.
Respond to incoming cases ranging from list pull requests to troubleshooting integration errors that users encounter.
Requirements:
A bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education.
1 year of experience with salesforce, ideally in a nonprofit context with salesforce lightning and nonprofit success pack (npsp).
Understanding of excel including effective use of formulas and functions.
Excellent attention to detail.
Understanding of data governance best practices.
Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines, and handle and prioritize simultaneous requests.
Ability to critically evaluate and prioritize information gathered from multiple sources and reconcile conflicts.
Demonstrated self-starter with eagerness to learn and develop salesforce administrator skills.
Proficiency in microsoft office suite.
