Manager of sales operations, national accounts, north america
We are looking for a world-class sales operations manager to design, build and maintain our sales operations tools and processesYou will support our national account management team to deliver the maximum value to our customers and dealersThe mission of the sales operations team is to help our sales team work more efficiently and effectively to increase sales and to own the customer experience within the sales process to build and maintain customer loyaltyIn this role you will be responsible for solving complex operational and system problems to create solutions using technology.
Reporting to the manager of north america national accounts, you will be a member of the global rental and used equipment services team – a fast-growing business within caterpillar.
This position can sit in any caterpillar office or work-from-homeSome travel will be involved, up to 20%.
What you will do
Analyze the current data and systems: create and implement a go-forward data-management plan to support the business leaders to make insight-driven decisions
Work alongside national account region managers to define objectives, standardize sales processes, and create relevant reporting
Manage the national accounts pricing process, and research, develop and implement pricing tools
Co-manage dealer communication strategy ensuring dealer alignment with the national account program
Project manage cross-functional teams to develop solutions to support sales processes
Ensure effective setup and consistent use of salesforce.com across the sales organization
Manage the sales operations processes to enable sales team productivity
Proactively identify bottlenecks in the sales process and dealer sales operations process to find ways to reduce or eliminate them
Increase productivity with business process improvements, simplifying processes, and implementing sales automation tools
Manage metrics reporting to support data-driven decision making
Create lead score process and lead education and deployment into the national accounts team sales organization
Ensure sales operations compliance and represent national account sales function on company compliance and governance activity
Collaborate with peers globally to share best practices and support company initiatives
Manage three direct reports
What you have done
Owned the end-to-end process of tracking the sales process and conversion rates throughout the sales funnel in a b2b environment
Translated high-level sales strategies into system and process requirements, and ensure execution and business impact
Managed data from multiple sources and created tangible, insights that drive the sales process
Experienced implementing and administering sales support through the use of technology solutions
Effectively collaborated with internal teams, peers, and external business partners
Lead cross functional teams using project-management methodology
Built reports that inform and enable data-driven decisions for multiple levels of stakeholders
10-15 years’ experience managing sales operations in a b2b organization, preferably for equipment or durables
Prior people management experience
Experience with database management and working in complex environments with multiple data sources
Top candidates will also have
Experience in complex pricing structures design
Knowledge of caterpillar machines, application and work tool products and related services
Experience in rental industry – equipment or automotive is a plus
