Works under the direct supervision of more senior staffPartners with senior staff to analyze and inform portfolio construction decisions to highlight major risk positions within capital’s fixed income portfoliosIndependently enhances the framework for risk management monitoring and reporting processesDrives process changes for initiatives of varying size and scope, often with significant complexity and ambiguity.
Primary responsibilities/essential functions:
Partners with senior staff to analyze and inform portfolio construction decisions to highlight major risk positions within capital’s fixed income portfolios.
Develops reports that identify key risks in portfolios.
Performs quantitative analyses and provides recommendations in partnership with analysts and senior analysts to help formulate internal portfolio risk guidelines.
Generates ideas and presents recommendations to the risk and quantitative solutions team that could influence portfolio construction decision
Independently enhances the framework for risk management monitoring and reporting processes.
Develops top down and bottoms up portfolio risk reports to identify and monitor the major risks in portfolios.
Evaluates third party analytic systems and valuation models (interest rate, prepayment, credit, etc.)
Partners with more senior staff to evaluate risk methodology and scenario analysis capabilities to enhance risk assessment in fixed income portfolios.
Drives process changes for initiatives of varying size and scope, often with significant complexity and ambiguity.
Develops, monitors, and maintains various reports and dashboards.
Analyzes data and identifies trends, variances, and issues to formulate recommendations to enhance existing processes.
Develops and effectively leverages organizational networks and relationships in key internal functional areas such as the investment groups, i.t., and investment operations.
Designs and implements processes for fixed income portfolio managers and analysts.
Performs additional responsibilities as assigned.
Undergraduate degree in computer science, mathematics or statistics preferred.
Demonstrates advanced knowledge of excel, python or rExperience with bloomberg is a plus.
Demonstrates fundamental knowledge of finance and investment principlesDemonstrates interest in current and possible future policies, practices, trends, technology and information affecting the department/business area.
Demonstrates ability to collaborate and develop/maintain working relationships inside the organization to enable effective completion of business objectives.
Demonstrates intellectual curiosity and analytical skills in areas of moderate complexity.
Demonstrates effective written and oral communication skills with a diverse group of associates.
Demonstrates sound judgment in creating and presenting unique ideas and suggestions to improve risk reporting processes.
The ideal candidate will have 1-2 years of experience in financial services or data analysis with a strong interest in financial services.
