Job summary
As a member of the engineering team, you will be accountable for delivering capital projects from conceptual design to project completionWorking with multi-functional teams, you will have the responsibility to design and execute complex engineering projects, often involving new or improved products, processes, or techniques, across the campbells meals & beverage plants.
This position will be based in the camden, nj world headquarters, preferably, however remote work will be considered.
Primary responsibilities
Providing presentations to leadership teams on project concepts, scope, and costs.
Providing technical guidance to cross-functional groups for evaluating manufacturability of new products and packages within existing filling, sterilization and packaging system constraintsThis includes identification of additional capabilities which could be required.
Developing conceptual and preliminary engineering documentation such as rough order of magnitude project estimates, estimates for preliminary engineering costs, layouts, and flow diagrams.
Evaluating existing system configurations, capabilities, and limitations in relation to new technologies, product and package changes, or changes in throughput needsDesigning changes to existing systems to meet new demands.
Developing capital project authorizations, working closely with business units to define project justification.
Creating functional, equipment and installation specifications and requests for proposals.
Investigating new technologies to automate and improve manufacturing system performance.
Technical leadership and execution management for capital projects from $1,000,000 to $25,000,000.
Education and experience
Bachelor of science degree in engineering (preferably mechanical) with knowledge on broad range of engineering disciplines and technologies.
Master’s degree in engineering or related discipline preferred but not required.
A demonstrated mastery level practitioner in filling, in-container sterilization and packaging technology
Pmp and/or pe license desired but not required.
12+ years of experience, with 5+ years based in a production plantIdeally this experience is in the food and beverages industry.
Proficiency in microsoft office applications including microsoft project.
Autocad experience is preferred.
Travel is anticipated at up to 50% of the time to campbell’s meals & beverages production facilities throughout north america.

Ability to understand, design and analyze high speed filling, sterilization (hot fill & hold, retort and aseptic) and packaging systems and equipment for metal, glass and plastic containers using data to drive decisions.
Familiarity with retort, hot fill & hold and aseptic operations.
Ability to successfully manage multiple priorities and assignments.
Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to convey information to professional and operation personnel at varying levels of the organization to accomplish assignments.
Ability to build rapport and trust with cross-functional partners, internal customers, and external vendors.
Ability to effectively communicate with plant floor personnel, peers, and leadershipBe able to routinely provide updates and presentations to local and corporate leadership.
Ability to coordination cross-functional teams (internal and external) for execution of project work.
