Brown brothers harriman is currently recruiting a wealth planner to join our private banking team in philadelphiaIn this role you will support the senior wealth planner in philadelphia and work directly with the relationship management and banking teams to help deliver proactive and integrated wealth planning advice to the firm’s current and prospective private banking clientsYou will represent the firm by actively participating in bar associations, estate planning councils, and other groups, conferences, and events, and engages with the local trusts and estates community to keep your knowledge base up-to-dateIn addition, you may be called upon to assist the senior wealth planner in the preparation of articles for publication and speaking engagementsIn the case of a candidate with six or more years of directly relevant experience, this role may be subject to a part-time schedule or a flexible work arrangement that incorporates telecommuting.
Some of your key responsibilities include:
Providing support to the senior wealth planner by reviewing estate planning documents, preparing materials for client presentations and analyzing complex planning issues.
Serving as a trusted advisor directly to private banking clients by combining estate planning education, analysis, and guidance with a proactive ability to assist with related investment and asset allocation issues.
Serving as a resource for the relationship management teams and bankers on trust administration and estate planning issues to ensure the highest level of client service and satisfaction.
Contribute to the growth of the private banking business through referrals from existing clients and gathering additional assets from existing clients.
Make an important contribution to winning the business of prospects identified by others.
Assist senior wealth planner in the preparation of articles for publication and external speaking engagements.
Co-author articles with the senior wealth planner and speak at external engagements if needed.
Build your network of contacts in the high-net worth communities where you live and work by actively participating in legal associations, community-based organizations, charity boards, nonprofit events, and other channels that will expose you to a wide network of people who are likely to deliver leads to the bbh private banking businessTake advantage of the crm to manage communications with this growing network of contacts.
Work with wealth planners, regional trust heads, team leaders, and event planners across private banking to plan and execute specific bbh-sponsored marketing materials and eventsContribute content and help to edit articles for investorview, owner to owner, women and wealth, and other substantive material.
Business and professional leadership:
Continuously find ways to expand and grow a personal network that is separate and distinct from the networks of other professionals in the office.
Visibly support and participate in implementing changes to support the success of the private banking business.
Support and contribute to a positive, energetic, and team-oriented work environment.
Risk management and administration:
Exercise sound, professional judgment on behalf of clients while avoiding risks to the firm
Demonstrate 100% adherence to the compliance requirements of the business, including completing documentation of all contact information and written records of all meetings and discussions (dis) in the crm.
Jd degree or cfp
Minimum 2 years of experience as a practicing trusts and estates lawyer or as a financial planner, in either case working directly with a high-net worth client base (>$10 million)
Strong understanding of sophisticated estate planning techniques appropriate for high-net worth clients
Experience preparing materials to illustrate client estate plans using programs like numbercruncher, excel, powerpoint and vizio.
Ability to multitask and independently problem solve
Strong networking skills
