Job summary/basic function:
To provide meaningful workforce analytics to support data-driven decisions across departmentsDevelops and executes business strategy through better understanding, planning, and engagementPresents workforce data to advise organization leaders and plays an integral part in guiding department work plans based on key metrics and analysis.
The operations team works in a highly dynamic environment to support the diverse programs within the division of extended studies that extend higher education beyond traditional boundaries.

Prepare and present statistical and narrative reports with an emphasis placed on detail and accuracy.
Dissects and summarizes information with visually compelling charts and graphs to achieve understanding at all levels of the organization.
Effectively presents and articulates finding to key stakeholders digitally, in person, and in written forms.
Publishes standard and complex ad-hoc reports with varying detail for different audiences.
Responsible for responding to and providing data for internal and external surveys.
Work in a team environment to achieve organizational goals.
Develops and documents procedures to streamline processes and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Work as the extended studies data stewardResponsibilities include becoming a boise state data expert with understanding and expertise in our data architecture, historical data storage and retrieval locations, nuances to our data, and building a network with other data stewards across campus.
Manage process improvement projects from identification to implementation to increase the efficiency of data acquisition and analysis.
Research, recommend, implement, and become the expert for new data acquisition and analysis software, systems, and tools.
Work with the systems team to define data best practices and create/maintain documentation clearly explaining processes, procedures, and reporting cadence.
Utilize strong self-initiative and adaptability to balance workload in order to meet deadlines and adjust to changing priorities.
Provide excellent customer service by proactively communicating and collaborating with colleagues, supervisors, and stakeholdersListen actively and respond appropriately to all needs/requests in a timely manner.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, skills, abilities:
Ability to take initiative without established guidelines and procedures using independent judgment.
Ability to independently research problem areas, facilitate meetings and decision-making processes
Communicate effectively both verbally and in writingDemonstrative experience with presentation and data gathering software
Experience applying analytical methods to business problems, driving improved decision making and outcomes
Advanced knowledge of excel analytics; statistical analysis, survey tools, and research techniques.
Bachelor’s degree and 2 years of professional experience or equivalent relevant experience.
Demonstrated experience working in a dynamic, highly collaborative, results-driven, and interactive environment.
Three (3) years of demonstrated experience working with data; or, any equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
Experience using peoplesoft ps query, plsql developer, or other sql-based query reporting tools.
