Job summary
Black & veatch has an exciting opportunity for a senior instrumentation and control (i&c)/automation engineer within our water americas - systems engineering design teamOur systems design team provides electrical, instrumentation & control, and process mechanical solutions to all of black & veatch’s water/wastewater projects throughout north americaBlack & veatch is currently growing our i&c team to support the growing need for i&c, scada and automation solutions for our clients across the usThis position will be part of our talented and expanding electrical and i&c team.
Key responsibilities
Manage and coordinate planning, design and construction phase services for automation, instrumentation, control and scada projects for water and wastewater utilitiesThe successful candidate will possess a mix of excellent written and verbal communication skills, demonstrated project management capabilities, i&c design experience, and broad i&c technical knowledgeResponsibilities include both operational and business development support as listed below.
Project execution responsibilities
Manage and take overall responsibility for i&c and scada projects
Lead i&c project team and coordinate efforts for multi-discipline projects
Monitor and control project schedule and budgets
Lead development of scada system master plans, studies and technical reports
Additional project opportunities
Manage hmi and plc application programming projects
Manage large scada system replacement projects
Support data driven infrastructure and telecommunication solutions
Business development support responsibilities
Develop, manage and maintain client relationships for existing and future opportunities
Lead or support business development activities for automation projects
Prepare proposals and presentations in response to sales opportunities
Develop scope of services and fee proposals
Preferred qualifications
Instrumentation, control, automation, scada and dcs design, project management and business development experience
Consulting engineer experience

Minimum qualifications
Requires a bachelor`s degree in engineering from either a recognized accredited program in their home country or the country in which the professional is practicingMinimum of 15 years related work experienceAll applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations.
