Vehicle subsystem ipt lead
Position overview
Aurora flight sciences is seeking an experienced engineering professional to lead the vehicle subsystems integrated product team (ipt) for an advanced aircraft development programThe vehicle subsystems ipt lead will have responsibility for leading the development of landing gear, flight control, hydraulic and environmental control systemsAs part of a dynamic, highly collaborative team, you will have the opportunity to help aurora drive innovation and accelerate development of advanced aircraft technologyCandidates must have a strong work ethic, experience in aerospace vehicle subsystems, excellent communication skills and thrive in a fast-paced, hands-on, team-oriented environment.
Primary responsibilities:
Overall technical responsibility for vehicle subsystems ipt.
Directs and coordinates all program tasks related to the vehicle subsystems ipt.
Lead the development and presentation of work packages through technical gate reviews.
Represent the organization as the technical sme and represent the ipt within program reviews and customer interactions.
Coordinate regularly with program management and chief engineer.
Minimum requirements
Minimum of b.sIn mechanical or aerospace engineering (or related stem discipline) plus 9+ years of relevant experience (or equivalent combination of technical education and experience).
Demonstrated expertise in aerospace vehicle subsystems
Demonstrated technical and/or project leadership.
Experience with cad software (catia v5 preferred).
Excellent written and communication skills.
Must be a us person.
Desired requirements
- experience leading the development of aerospace systems, from conceptual design through production- experience with system engineering processes, including (but not limited to) requirements development, system safety analysis (fha, fta, fmea development), and reliability analysis- project management experience- experience with cad software (catia v5 preferred).
Physical requirements
This role is intended to be based out of either our manassas, va or cambridge, ma officesHybrid or fully remote work arrangements may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
