We are forming a brand new team in bengaluru to tackle the huge domain of business and infrastructure automation at atlassianWe are looking for an experienced and talented engineering manager who is passionate about infrastructure and automation and is ready to form a brand new team to tackle this exciting problem spaceThe team’s first major priority will be to develop aws region deployment automation to allow our atlassian software to deploy rapidly in new regionsWith the bold aim of delivering same-day deployment of new regions as the business expands, optimising and automating a business & infrastructure process that currently take monthsOur products are currently available in 6 regions across eu, us and apac, with aws expanding its global coverage of aws local zones into ~50 regions, atlassian would like to take advantage of this growth, expanding into these regions to continue the explosive growth of our user-bases + deliver key regional capabilities to customers across the world like data residency, local compliance, & network performance for regional usersIf you are interested in infrastructure, platform & scale, if you have a passion for automation, or if you want to deeply understand the architecture and engine behind a major saas product, this could be the role for you!
On your first day, we`ll expect you to have:
Experience building strong teams, setting strategy, mission, strong in talent acquisition.
Background and experience in cloud saas offerings aws, google cloud, azure
Significant experience with building large scale web software in cloud
Familiarity with agile software development methodologies
Ability to drive technical decisions, innovation, quality, and outcomes
Strong organization and interpersonal skills
A track record of execution, risk management, and delivering results through engineering teams.
If you`ve got some of these skills, even better:
History/experience setting up new teams from scratch
Employee performance & growth management
Strong stakeholder/product-manager mindset, the background of working closely with the business to achieve outcomes in software
Experience with workflow orchestration tooling eg aws step functions or similar
Experience developing and instilling a culture of operational maturity, monitoring and observability.
Background in site reliability or infrastructure engineering.
