Under general supervision, this job is responsible for writing basic and occasionally moderately complex arbitration contentions and responses against third party carriers that have made damage reductions to allstate’s subrogation demands, typically in matters involving auto/property or occasionally property and medical claimsThe individual also delivers compassionate service that is fast, fair, and easy, to ensure customer retentionThe individual is capable of working independently, prioritizing the individual`s own responsibilities, and managing the individual`s own workloadThe individual is also gaining experience and consistently meets band level behaviors, production, quality, and/or customer service goals.
Follows guidelines of subrogation and arbitration to write up a basic and occasionally moderately complex arbitration demand for recovery and resolve subrogation file; develops arbitration strategy and researches supporting case and statutory law as directed
Writes basic and occasionally moderately complex contentions and respondent arbitrations
Applies basic and occasionally moderately complex compliance rules and state laws to claims
Evaluates third party carrier response/reduction to subrogation demand on basic and occasionally moderately complex claims and follows up on collecting additional information from customer, third party carrier, or others for investigation and file documentation; documents file with decision making process
Serve on arbitration panel by determining and rendering prompt, fair, and binding decisions based on evidence provided in the applicant’s and respondent’s contentions on damage and/or liability disputes between insurers and/or self-insured entities
Determines award amounts within broad arbitration rules; writes accurate, concise, and informative decisions that address the issues of each party
Makes and maintains a connection with the customer by understanding and meeting their needs; serves the customer with empathy; and follows up to ensure that customer needs have been met
Documents a claim file with notes, evaluations and decision making process
You`re a great match for this role if you have:
3+ years of liability claims experience in auto strongly preferred
Bachelors degree in related field preferred or equivalent experience
Apply conflict management and problem resolution skills in managing internal and external customer relationships
Ability to investigate, evaluate, negotiate and settle basic and occasionally moderately complex claims
Ability to interact effectively with internal or external customers and act with empathy
Apply knowledge of insurance policy, coverage, and regulation
Apply knowledge of claim processes, policies, procedures, claim systems, coverage, liability, damage estimating, and/or settlement, and adherence to applicable legal compliance standards
Apply industry knowledge to discipline practices, including best practices, to support the business unit
Apply knowledge of basic analytical procedures to reconcile, manipulate, and recognize patterns of data
Apply knowledge of standardized problem solving and preparation of basic reports for analysis
Ability to leverage learned technical skills in support of team objectives
Provides individual decision making within authority limits
Has and maintains all appropriate licenses and registrations for the role per state requirements
