The lead, internal communications serves as the project manager from initial ideation through execution and delivery regarding the development and execution of mass communications strategies, plans and tactics for internal audiences enterprise-wide, including leaders of people and associatesThe lead determines, contributes and manages the creation of communications materials through information gathering; key message development; writing and editing communications; consulting with creative partners on the visual execution of communications tactics; and coordinating with internal departments and partnersIndependently representing the communication function on cross-departmental initiatives and managing updates to senior leadership is also the responsibility of the lead.
Essential job functions
Communication strategy: d evelopment and execution of communications tasks and projects for internal audiences enterprise-wide, such as annual open enrollment and other benefits changes/promotions, diversity & inclusion initiatives, sustainability efforts and change initiatives that affect large groups of leaders and/or associatesGather and synthesize information, and develop communications strategies, plans and tactics based on partners’ communication needs and goals, audiences’ needs and available measurement toolsWrite and edit communications for a variety of audiences and channelsUtilizes knowledge of microsoft office tools such as word, excel, adobe acrobat, powerpoint, and teams to execute daily workDemonstrates strong interviewing and information gathering skills, the ability to synthesize and communicate information for various audiences to easily consume and understand, and leverage visibility of multiple projects to provide consultationProvide supporting creative direction and detailed feedback.
Project management: accountable for the project management of communication strategies and plans from initial ideation to execution and delivery, serving as the subject matter expert on linking the business intent to the communications and creative output and owning a specialized area and/or high visibility projectsAccountable that all projects are reviewed for errors with strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy Demonstrates the ability to work independently, remain organized, and prioritize work in order to work on multiple projects over the same time period with accuracy and attention to detailMust have outstanding project management skills and the ability to multi-task, including the ability to lead a large number of projects with multiple components, and the ability to deliver work on time, on budget and error-free.
Building relationships: build relationships and identify business connections with internal teams to maximize efficiencyProactively ask questions about business and audience needs by identifying meaningful opportunities to impact bothCollaborate with communications delivery & brand reputation, account management, creative teams (design and editorial) on timing and delivery of written and designed communications, feedback from internal partners and revised tacticsOwn relationships with internal partners who request communications support and counsel them on effective communications solutionsDevelops and manages relationships at all levelsBuilds relationships by establishing trust, confidence and credibility with senior leaders, executives, and regulatory bodiesValues effective communication and the importance of building consensus.
Stakeholder communication: demonstrates the ability to work independently, remain organized, and prioritize work in order to work on multiple projects over the same time with accuracy and attention to detailUtilizes critical thinking skills to help analyze business issues, collaborates with stakeholders to resolve problems, is strategic, and gains consensus on the best solutionDemonstrates outstanding verbal and written communication skills when working with internal and external partners and at leadership presentations.

Working conditions/ physical requirements : normal office environment, some travel may be required.

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in journalism, communications or public relations or equivalent related education and/or experience
Five or more years professional work experience in corporate communications or internal communications
Master’s in business administration or other advanced degree in journalism, communications or public relations or equivalent related education and/or experience
Bachelor’s degree (required), master’s degree
Five or more years
