Full job description
Allegheny science & technology (ast) is currently seeking a research program analyst to provide technical and programmatic support to a federal client agencyAn ideal candidate is a confident, proactive, and demonstrated problem-solver and multi-tasker; effectively communicates with external stakeholders, technical staff and senior management; and is experienced with renewable marine energy conversion technologies r&d programs and material science application in ocean environments.
Position responsibilities include:
Support client initiatives dealing with marine energy conversion technologies, materials manufacturing, lifecycle analysis/circular economy, policy, research, and programmatic support.
Support client initiatives dealing with r&d activities focused on materials, coatings, and manufacturing processes for marine energy technologies, as well as methods such as design for manufacture or novel manufacturing and materials.
Support development of r&d program research priorities, as well as r&d funding opportunities.
Support and coordinate marine-materials research collaborations and stakeholder research groups.
Research, draft, and/or review technical reports, strategic plans, white papers, policy language, briefing materials, and related products as assigned.
Provide technical input in developing responses to congressional inquiries.
Monitor, update, and summarize program and project progress and status.
Support active project management by identifying and investigating financial project issues and recommending and executing appropriate corrective actions as directed.
Coordinate activities across client and stakeholder initiatives.
Actively monitor program results against expected deliverable and critical path items.
Bachelor’s degree in relevant field, advanced degree preferred (materials engineering/science, or related field)
Must have 5+ years of experience.
Experience with monitoring government-funded research, studies, and technology deployment projects.
Demonstrated proficiency using microsoft office (word, excel, powerpoint).
Excellent written skills.
