Bachelor`s or master’s degree in business, engineering, statistics or a related field
1+ years of professional experience in analytics, measurement & experimentation, statistical data analysis, or comparable experience
Hands-on experience in writing complex, highly-optimized sql queries across large datasets
Proficient working knowledge of data mining using etl, data warehouse as well as excel
Excellent writing and critical analytic thinking
Effectively communicate with both business and technical teams
Ability to dive deep and demonstrate attention to detail
Prior experience with data visualization (tableau, quiksight, power bi)

The restricted products (rp) organization is seeking an exceptional business analyst to drive analysis and insights to help our teams make meaningful business decisionsAs a business analyst, you will focus on improving the success within a business function by analyzing data, discovering and solving real world problems, and building metrics and business cases to improve customer experienceWe are focused on your success and want to build future leaders within amazonA key component of the role is to identify process and system improvement opportunities by monitoring existing metrics, analyzing data, and partnering with internal teamsIn addition, you will design and develop automated reporting solutions to enable stakeholders to manage the business and make effective decisionsLastly, you will enable effective decision making by retrieving and aggregating data from multiple sources and compiling it into a digestible and actionable format.

Key job responsibilities
Develop & apply domain/process expertise
Translate basic business problem statements into analysis requirements

Write queries and output efficiently
Have in-depth knowledge of the data available in area of expertise
Work with structured data in a traditional data storage environment
Pull the data needed with standard query syntax; periodically identify more advanced methods of query optimization
Cross-check pulled data against other published sources to determine fidelity
Solve well-defined tasks with clear requirements and limited ambiguity
Utilize basic data-manipulation tools
Derive actionable recommendations from analysis that impact a process or team
Convert data to make it analysis-ready through basic descriptives, aggregations, and pivots
Implement/deploy data visualization or communication tools (e.g., metrics dashboards, decks, flashes)
Communicate clearly to stakeholders on project requirements and status
Communicate analysis and work with business stakeholders to understand its value
About the team
Restricted products business intelligence (rpbi) develops, builds and manages the mechanisms and tools that drive business insights for restricted products (rp) and seller enforcement for restricted products (serp)Our goal is to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of rp and serp by delivering actionable analyses, automating reoccurring processes and investing in new capabilities, such as machine learning.
Ability to use scripting languages such as python or r to evaluate data
Experience with aws services including s3, redshift, emr and apache spark
Project management and execution under hard deadlines
Proven problem solving skills with regard to unstructured, uncertain problems
