Supply chain manager

This is a supply chain manager role, reporting to local division manager in motion division located in bangaloreLead a team of procurement specialists to execute purchasing and logistics strategies that support the business by optimizing costs, quality, and overall reliability of suppliers and supplied productsEnsure execution in accordance with company and supply chain management (scm) instructions and procedures.
Your responsibilities
Implements effective sourcing strategies in line with division business strategy and regional/global continuous improvement process sourcing (cips) strategy to ensure that suppliers have the capability and capacity to meet current and future business requirementsEnsures all relevant parties understand strategies and execute processes accordinglyCollaborate with global category team during global negotiation processWhen managing specific projects, collaborates with proposal, project, and category teams to determine necessary items for procurement during the projectDevelops schedules, estimates, forecasts, and budgets to support project purchasing process.
Collaborate with the global category team and local team for development of new vendors and materials / products as per gate model methodologyCollaborate with marketing team for tender stage cost improvements and to secure projects orders.
Apply and implement abb scm standard, tools, and processes in procurement and vendorIn accordance with group scm guidelines, local management instruction, and local division objectives, implements programs to drive improvement in cost, quality, delivery and working capital (payment terms, lead times, order quantities and purchased material inventory).
Use of sap ariba tool to on-boards new suppliers as per abb supplier on boarding policy and runs regular supplier evaluationsOversees supplier performance (on time delivery, quality, lead time), and resolves performance issues.
Manages planning, forecasting and tracking of procurement activities, cost budgets and savings forecastsEnsures buyers minimize risk regarding quality and financial exposure by buying in accordance with quality and commercial procedures and in accordance with company guidelinesCollaborate with marketing team for upcoming tenders and ensure timely forecast to all the global and local supply base based on the lead time of suppliersEnsure supplier on time delivery performance as per the kpi and customer delivery schedule.
Leverages cips category teams locally, regionally and globally to ensure appropriate supplier selection.
Defines and establishes local standard agreements and negotiate the contract in line with the abb general terms and conditions & project specific special commercial term with all major suppliersProvides and maintains standard terms in purchase contracts/terms and conditions in line with company directives and guidelines.
Develop & mange documents such as general and special conditions for use on all project purchase documents, project procurement procedures, and project procurement plans and ensures due diligence compliance in all sourcing documents.
Ensures (with hr manager support) that the area of responsibility is properly organized, staffed, skilled and directedGuides, motivates and develops direct and indirect subordinates within hr policies and group supply chain management excellence guidelines (knowledge management, functional training, etc.)Responsible for coordinating scm talent management and succession planning within assigned area.
Your background
Bachelors or master’s degree in any of electrical or electronics or equivalent.
Should have 8-12 years of experience in handling project management for large customers.
Experience in using supply chain management tools and templates.
Knowledge in estimation and forecasting techniques and quality standards.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, multi-tasking skills.
